H has taken to waking up a lot, as previously mentioned. Last night she took it into the middle of the night. Had I gone to my work Christmas Party I'd be really suffering today; instead I'm just suffering.
Fortunately (for me) after the third getting up I warned her that Mr Elephant would have to be taken away which worked, and she was fast asleep again within... seconds? Funny that. It took me a good half hour or so before I was back to where I needed to be.
We had a lovely wakeup from her at 6.15 "HELLO! I'M BACK!!!!!"
She's going to be 28 months old tomorrow. I hope this phase passes soon...
Every time I ask her why she got up in the night, I get the stock response "because I did". No amount of pressing for more information seems to work, and instead my 28 month old feels like a teenager, not wanting to let me know what's going on in her head and just giving me stock answers for everything, while also looking a little moody. I think I've had a vision into the future, and this is one even Marty McFly can't fix... sigh.
(but we can... can't we?)
Yesterday me and H headed to the shops to get a game for Christmas Day for us all to play. She went on and on and on and on and on about Hungry Hippos. "I really like it mummy, can we get it?" "Do you know what it is?" "Yes, mummy" "but you've never played it!" "Ohhhh yes I have!" "When?" "A while ago." hm. We got Elefun in the end as it was reduced to £10 in Sainsburys plus nowhere had the games we were looking for - having said all that though, we got home and had one game, and H squealed and laughed out loud when we played it, and kept saying "this is FUN!", so I think we got the right one.... Shaun says I've got to get less competitive about catching the butterflies though, and let H get some...
