Hm.

I'm still out of sorts with London today, though it redeemed itself a little by Carshalton and Morden's good housebling which cheered us all up no end - plus we've had a family day - no Shaun studying so I've not had to do a bigger share of the childcare, although I'm still tired.

We discovered Mio Mau this week by accident on Channel 5 one morning when waiting for Peppa Pig - it's great but slightly annoying, yet brilliant. Think Morph but in a quirky way with music which refuses to leave your head (which is available on iTunes on the Milkshake compilation, yes, we've bought it). I also found an iPod/iPhone app which I'll be doing more discovering of when I get a chance. There's loads of videos on YouTube, but also a lot which have been blocked by the owners, but none seem to be available on DVD. Hmm. I'd buy one if I could!

Today has been mainly spent making Christmas Cake with the Delia mixture from Waitrose (reduced to £5!), of which Holly did a lot and did well, though obviously with plenty of help from us. The key part of the instructions said "check your oven's manual when you have a fan assisted one" which Shaun finally found an hour into cooking, when he also found he'd had the cake baking on the 'defrost' setting... fortunately the cake seems fine. I backed down and bought marzipan and icing for a fun afternoon tomorrow.

Looks like we'll be swimming in the morning - I've been looking for a pool which has the hoops (this kind of thing) H uses in swimming lessons as she's pretty much using them on her own while kicking and splashing with little to no support from me - and most pools don't seem to have them. A friend said Guildford has them in one of their pools, but that's a bit too far unfortunately.. sigh.
